Our Story
Hello! We’re the Taylor family,
We’re guessing you’re here because you’re looking for a self-catering holiday rental in West Yorkshire, and you need a place big enough for a large group, that feels comfy and luxurious. A place where you can relax and de-stress. Well that’s what you’ll find with us.
MILL HOUSE BARN IS A PLACE WHERE FAMILY & FRIENDS CAN COME TOGETHER IN A HOMELY & COMFY SPACE
The barn is located on the farm that’s been in our family for three generations. We love it here… the picturesque countryside, the peace, the tranquillity and the fresh air. It’s an idyllic place to live.
In fact, we love it so much that we want to share this part of our world with others. And we had a big old empty barn, sitting there, doing nothing. It was the perfect solution.
Before welcoming our first guests in 2019, we spent two and a half years lovingly converting the barn. Transforming it from a run down, building to the beautiful and luxurious holiday let it is today.
The best bit about converting an old barn was starting with an empty shell. It meant we could put lots of thought into creating a layout specifically to suit a large group. We haven’t had to shoe-horn rooms into tiny spaces, or compromise on anything.
For you, this means Top Barn is a place that has the space you need to make the most of your time with the people that matter…
Large living areas that fit everyone in comfortably. Equally sized bedrooms so no one has to make do. And everything you could possibly want to make your stay a home from home experience.
And the best reward for us is when our guests tell us how beautiful the barn is and how we’ve thought of everything.
Meet Becky
Top Barn is very much a family business, but the day to day running is looked after by Becky. Becky will be the friendly voice on the end of the phone, or the person at the other end of your messages and emails. And while you’re here, she’ll be on-hand too – if you need her. She’ll always aim to be attentive to your needs, without being intrusive.
